Among Trees
"It's not about how we save the trees. It's about how the trees can save us."
"It's not about how we save the trees. It's about how the trees can save us."

In vivid images, the new antagon production “Under Trees” brings to the stage the battles that are raging through our societies today. Battles that are fought with unequal stakes: For some it is about prosperity and profit, for others it is about life itself. The production gives space to those who are at the center of these struggles and yet are often rendered speechless. Those who create soil, water, life; also for us - and yet have no voice.

How can we, as increasingly individualized beings, learn from the care and solidarity that characterize the networks of relationships in a forest? How can we put aside the logic of competition and exploitation and instead: listen?
In a mixture of physical theater, mask play, dance and live music, the play approaches those who were there long before us and whose existence is now becoming increasingly fragile due to our actions: the trees.

"Listen now. There is something you need to hear. You have to remember something."
